1. The National Science Foundation funded three new centers in educational study this year. The School of Education is collaborating on two of them:
- The $10.3 Million Center for Proficiency in Teaching Mathematics
- The $9.9 Million Center for Curriculum Materials in Science
2. $6.7 Million for the continuation of the Study
of Instructional Improvement
3. $1.1 Million for the Evaluation and Technical Assistance
for Michigan's "Reading
First" Program
4. $1.1 Million for the project, Teacher Quality: Recruitment and Retention
5. $855 Thousand for the project The Influence of First- and Second-hand Investigations on Learning Opportunities and Outcomes in Inquiry-based Science in the Elementary School
